Welcome back to the Real Life Momz podcast. This is a place where you can take a break from all your to dos and take time to focus on yourself. I'm Lisa Foster, your host, and I am passionate about helping moms prioritize themselves on this podcast. We discuss strategies to promote our mental, physical, and emotional well being.

And today we are reclaiming our life force energy. And I am here with Lisa. Hello mom, a Laura Sage. She is an intuited, gifted mentor, a womb shaman, and a Shakti activator. She is here today to help us reclaim our creative life force energy and create exactly what we desire. Welcome Laura to the show.

Speaker 2: Yay. Thank you, Lisa. I'm so honored to be here with you and with all the wonderful moms that are listening.

Speaker: Yes. And I am excited about this conversation. I was thinking about it's like, I get excited, I get a little nervous, I'm intrigued. So I have no idea where we're really going, but I'm [00:01:00] excited to take the journey with you.

So yay. I know you have a lot of information for us.

Speaker 2: I love all those feelings, so yes, yes, yes.

Speaker: Well, let's start out a little bit. I know you've had your own spiritual awakening. You are a mom, so maybe you could tell us a little bit, how you even got on this journey and this path of even helping other people, men and women.

Speaker 2: Yeah, so it was around 2014. I had already started some of my spiritual practice. You know, when you look back you're like, Oh, wow, I actually started much further ago than I realized, right? But in 2014 at that time, I was, I was really meditating every day. And I would say that I had a very conscious and intentional spiritual practice.

And at the time I had my, my one son and I was between the two boys. And I was an equine physical therapist. I did physical therapy to horses. And so one day I got into my car and I was going to drive to the horses. And as I'm driving down the road, my [00:02:00] higher self comes in and says, Ohm three times.

And, you know, I knew what Ohming was, but I didn't practice it in my practice. So it kind of took me like, okay, I herself, but I listened. And so I took a nice deep breath. Oh, man, all the way to the end of my breath. And at the end of the third one, an energy shot from the base of my body through my body, out my crown.

And I went into full body orgasm and I had to pull the car over and I had actually never experienced full body orgasm sexually at that point in my life, let alone driving my car oaming down the road. And you know, of course it was very delicious and enjoyable and it lasted a few minutes and by the time that it was done, I was left in this state of just.

Bliss, ecstatic bliss, cloud nine, I was so lit. I had no idea what had happened to me. So I got [00:03:00] back on the road, drove down to the horses, you know, I had the music cranked. I was just like having the time of my life. I was waving at everybody. And you know, the energy kind of subsided throughout the day.

And then after that, I had five months of, you know, Quite a radical, intense experience because what had happened to me is I had what was called spontaneous Kundalini awakening. But again, I didn't know this. And so when the Kundalini awakens, which we can talk about what that is in just a moment, you know, she normally travels very slowly through your body.

She takes years, sometimes even a whole lifetime to really make it through the chakras until she gets to the crown where she unites with Shiva. And we experienced divine union, but mine was rapid and intense. And so when she does that, she's our creative life force energy, and she's also our own internal healing power.

So as she shot through my body, she released a [00:04:00] ton of stored emotion and trauma from my body. And so for the next five months that came rip roaring out of my system. You know, I had a young child. He was, you know, a year and a half, maybe at the most. And I would find myself one minute on the ground, grieving, sobbing over something.

I wasn't even sure why I was grieving. The next minute I would be like laughing hysterically. The next minute I would be like raging and just. Screaming at the wall, you know, and trying to like not have my son, you know, like I didn't mind showing him it, but I didn't want him to feel that any of it was at him.

And I still had no idea what had happened to me to the point that I like literally asked my higher self, am I going crazy? And my higher self said, breathe and allow. And so after those five months, a book came into my space, which is how the universe wonderfully does so, which was about kundalini awakening [00:05:00] and the first chapter was about spontaneous kundalini awakening.

And what I realized through that experience was that there was the me before and the me after, and the me before was numb, shut down, emotionally suppressed, not in any type of aliveness or joy, even though from the outside, I had a perfect life. My husband, And I got along very, very well.

We had a wonderful house. We had the one son, like jobs, good income, all the things. But that's not how I felt on the inside. And so that experience was so radical and so extreme that it showed me what was possible for myself and took me on the journey of like, okay, what happened and how do I help other people do this?

Because I started seeing actually how a majority of people. Yeah.

Speaker: And I can totally relate to that because I [00:06:00] remember there was not the whole orgasm thing, although that sounds amazing, however, but the numbness, like I remember going with my husband and the kids and we went the botanical gardens and I had this huge light show.

And I just remember seeing everyone's faces and like, Oh my God, this is so lovely and gorgeous. And you could like, it was beaming out of them. And I was like, I left like, yeah, that was pretty, but I'm like, I didn't feel any of that. And I said that to my husband, I was like, I don't feel any of that. he's like, wow, you look so happy.

You look like you had the best time out of all of us. And I'm like, not at all. Not at all. It's not that I had a bad time, but it's that numbness, that numbness. I feel like that somehow for me, I think it was within parenting, even though I love being a mom, love it, but somehow I feel like I got kind of stuffed down within that role.

And so I guess my question to you is kudos to you, first of all, for like, listening to your higher power and yourself and trusting all that. But also, [00:07:00] how do moms like myself, who maybe don't have as much exposure to that work just start to kind of feel again?

Speaker 2: Hmm, such a wonderful question. You know, it's all about presence in our body.

It's about being present in our body and being present in the moment, which the wonderful thing about presence is that your body is always here now. So when we bring our awareness to our body, we, you know, we start to drop in, although it can take some practice. So I really recommend for any of the listeners who are understanding that they might be shut down or yeah, that they're not present, right.

That you start to practice really breathing into your body, breathing into your belly, right. That complete breath or the belly is coming out as you inhale and it's dropping back down as you exhale. And like really feeling. That movement of your breath and your body. And if you haven't practiced presence, you won't remain [00:08:00] there for very long.

But the more that you do it, I always get this like, ah, feeling like there it is. As I sink into my body. And as we do that more and more and give ourselves that permission to move out of our head, out of the overthinking, the to do lists, especially as a mom, the worrying or the thinking about everybody else, and just gift yourself the breathing into your body, the more you start to open up.

To feel.

Speaker: Yeah, that's so important. Even just that, that quiet space of it, right? That, you know, quieting and shutting everything out for those minutes of those breaths too is so important. I love that. So I know you talk a lot about the wisdom of the womb. That's a big area. Can you tell us a little bit about the importance of that and just, you know, even within being a mom and the cycles that it goes through?

Speaker 2: Yeah, it's amazing, isn't it? Because as women have [00:09:00] this incredible organ in our body that literally brings ethereal energy into form. I mean, Yeah. Yeah. It's absolute magic. It's so magical. And outside of creating babies, we don't really consider our womb. We kind of we have this thing called menstruation and it's a pain in our butts and it's uncomfortable.

And why do us women have to go through this? And men don't have to. And meanwhile, we're missing, we're missing the point. We're missing our own power. We're overseeing ourselves. We're not, we're not seeing the depth of our true femininity and fem power. And, you know, the womb is literally a container of creation.

So yes, it created your beautiful babies, mama. And, you know, we're so happy and celebratory of that. And you can use it to create

And you can also use it to connect to that femme power, you know, through the phases of [00:10:00] your cycle and understanding that humans are cyclical. Even males are cyclical. We are not meant to live in this go, go, go all the time. And I mean, that's modern society in general, let alone, hello. We have two little kids running around, you know, how does a mama get a break?

. But as we learn that cycle, those cycles more distinctly. And really understand the power of our womb and the power of our pussy, which isn't just our Yoni, it's the entire reproductive system. And like everything that's there, our aliveness, our leisure, our shakti, and really connect back into that from a place of honor and reverence.

Again, like I said, we connect into our primordial femme, Power and the power of our ancestors. And we awaken in so much more of an extraordinary way as a woman and bring that into the lives of our children, right? [00:11:00] Bring that into our careers and our businesses, bring that into the world.

Speaker: Yeah. I mean, it's funny because when you're talking about the womb itself and you're talking about the cycle and our menstruation and stuff.

It's, it is, like, I don't, I don't have a good association with my womb, like, even though it's life force and my baby is, and that's so important to me, but I don't think I'm alone in this, that it's almost feels a little negative to me.

Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, that's what I feel like we've been taught, you know, like you got to go through.

I mean, the first thing is, is the very first initiation where we bleed, you know, it's not, there's no initiation, there's no ceremony, there's no honoring and reverence like they used to of like, wow, you just came into womanhood. Like let's celebrate you and let's teach you how to work with this new found power of yours.

Now it's like, here's a tampon. And it sucks. Sweetheart. Like. You know, and [00:12:00] then we get called bitchy and on the rag and, you know, I mean, there's some cultures who even think it's gross and women aren't allowed in certain areas when they're on their bleed. And it's like, Whoa, we've totally lost sight of like the essence of the feminine in that time of her life.

Cause it's different. Of course, when we go through menopause.

Speaker: So how do we change that? How do you change that mindset of this? Kind of negative feeling towards your womb.

Speaker 2: Yes. It's all about reclamation, , and, you know, we gotta, we gotta do the, do you know, we gotta feel her. And I love, I take my clients through de arming, you know, we're really de arming that area.

And in some of my programs we, we, you know, we. Do mirror work with our Yoni and we do a lot of palpation of our Yoni because there's a lot of trauma there There's a lot of shame. There's a lot of things that we don't want to feel but if we're intimate with ourselves I'm not saying You know Going into [00:13:00] orgasm.

I mean like just touching yourself just for the joy of like I want to feel myself I want to love on her Like, what does she feel? How does she feel? Oh my gosh, there's trauma from one of my first sexual experiences that she's holding onto. It gets me all emotional, you know? So I teach my clients to have that conversation with their Yoni, teaching them how to breathe with their awareness on their womb.

And then, yeah, beginning to really pay attention to the phases of your cycle. You know, I work with women who are struggling to conceive or retain pregnancy. And the good thing about those women is most of them are pretty tapped into their cycles, sometimes a little too much, right. They're a little attached, but they know, like they're like, Oh yeah, I'm ovulating.

Like they're on it. Yeah. And for the rest of us who didn't have that issue, we're kind of like, Oh, Oh, there's my bleed. Yeah. Okay. You know, or like, I think it's kind of around this time, but we don't necessarily pay attention to the [00:14:00] different shifts of the phases. And so, you know, it's always first and foremost about awareness, slowing down, starting to like, I have an app on my phone that I teach my clients to use.

It tells you what part of your cycle you're in. So you can start to be like, Oh, I'm in my follicular. What does that feel like? What's showing up for me? I mean, my LA Teal, how does that show up for me? Because each woman is uniquely different and beautiful, and each cycle is different. You know, we have the moons and the planets and they affect us so deeply.

So it's about that awareness of your body becoming intimate with yourself.

Speaker: I love that. I mean, I have hit menopause , so I don't have all that, which I am gonna ask you a question on that, however. I like looking back, I'm like, Oh, it would have been so nice. Cause I did know you could feel the different phases.

And yeah, things show up in the different phases, but I would have loved to have had a better relationship and, and, and an [00:15:00] enjoyment of it actually. So that is amazing. And I think all the listeners who are listening now can actually take advantage of this information and start to have a different relationship with those different phases.

But for those like myself who are now in a different phase, like we're not having all those different ovulation phases and things like that, we're in menopause. Is there something that we can tap into in that area?

Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely. I mean, you're still cyclical, right? So I recommend my clients who have moved are in menopause or moving through menopause to really, you know, begin to notice what changes with the moons Because again, the moon is the fem power.

She's the feminine, the sun is the masculine. So what happens to you in the waxing and the waning and the full and in the new and tuning into that? You know, but menopause is our most powerful expression as a woman, and so I just can't wait.

Speaker: I'm not there yet. Oh my God, I [00:16:00] am so excited to be here. Like seriously, in menopause, like I remember saying to my gynecologist, I was like, can you just test me because I want to be there.

Like that is the place and but I don't know why I wanted to be there. I just was excited to get there. Transcribed But now what you're saying is like, it's, it's a really, why is it so powerful? Why is it such a powerful place?

Speaker 2: Yeah. Great question. Two main reasons for one, all of that energy that we were using to drop the egg to create the lining, you know, to balance the hormones through, I mean, that's a lot of energy specifically with like the chemistry, you know, you have this little chemistry scientist in your body, like calculating specificity for these hormones obviously not, but it's fun to think of that.

And, and then the, the bleed every, you know, every month, which is so powerful, it's a release process, but it takes a lot of energy and you have much more of that fluctuation of your creative life force energy. So [00:17:00] menopause for one, it's an initiation into your wise woman and wisdom is the feminine and she's an exhaustible and she's so deep and, you know, like ineffable.

So we really tap into that ineffable wisdom of ourselves, of our ancestors, of the feminine, of the mother, which is, you know, of course, huge. And then you're really in a much more balanced, you know, You're still cycling because everybody cycles, it's human nature, but it's not quite so extreme, your creative life force energy, that ebb, that flow, that movement tends to, you know, smooth out and you tend to just have more of that deeper creative potential.

Speaker: And I can attest to that. Like I have had massive creative potential since menopause. Like, so it's, it's so cool. Like, I'll just have all these ideas come to my head and energy to do them. And so it's [00:18:00] so fun to kind of relate that together. So thank you for that. I love hearing that. . Now you talk about life force energy and is that Shakti?

Cause I heard you say that before. Yes. So can you talk a little bit like what is Shakti? Let's get into this life force energy because that's where the creation is, is that correct? Yes.

Speaker 2: So it's known as Kundalini is when the, you know, the serpent, it's serpent energy is, it's coiled at the base of your body, right above your root chakras, where I find it.

There's a different couple of different theories on that. And then once she activates, she's Shakti, the goddess Shakti, and she has her archetypes of Durga, Ali, Saraswati. Those are all archetypes of the primary goddess Shakti. She's our primordial femme and she exists. She exists in all humans and she exists in everything, but men have Shakti as well.

It's not just females. It's our primordial femme that exists within all of us. And she's creative [00:19:00] life force energy. And so I always say that all sexual energy is also, you know, that creative life force energy, but not all creative life force energy is sexual. Some of it is just pure creative life force energy.

And so, as I mentioned before, in the normal process of her evolution, as she awakens, which is what I do with my clients, she heals, she opens up the chakra. She knows exactly what to do. She's wisdom, right? She's very, very conscious. She moves through you on her own accord. Don't go pushing her, she'll slap you.

And you know, she really heals us from the inside out and opens us up and opens us back to that wisdom of the feminine.

Speaker: That is so beautiful. So if people really wanted to learn more about this, cause I, you know, I've heard of like kundalini yoga, is that? Is that something? Is that, is that not connected to this at all?

It's totally connected.

Speaker 2: Absolutely. I've [00:20:00] never practiced it. Okay. Actually, I can't say I've never practiced it. I've practiced it like a little bit. You know, there's, there's so many roads to Rome. Right. And I, and I never dog on any of them. What she's told me is she prefers to do it in her own way.

Because like even a lot of yoga is actually masculine.

Speaker: And,

Speaker 2: She again has her own wisdom. So when I work with clients, we're just activating her and then letting her do her thing. But, and if people are drawn to kundalini yoga,

Speaker: absolutely do that. Yeah. Okay. Cause I feel like that's maybe where people can hear it a little bit more, but yeah, how do people get in touch?

What can they be doing to maybe start to tap in or learn more about her?

Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, definitely it's about your body, right? So again, like being in that moment, breathing into your body, remember that she is the femme.

And so as women, we can really connect to her through [00:21:00] are feminine organs and really feeling our body. And one of the ways is, you know, like with kids, they love to dance. Right. So it's really good to put on like like a really solid rhythm and then just breathe into your body. And like, don't dance, like, let your body like, tell you how it wants to move.

Right. And it'll do all this weird stuff. I was one time like walking, these are my legs. I was like walking like a chicken. I was you know, but just like breathe and like, let your body move you because that breath and that movement are some of those activators of Shakti, but you most likely won't have the spontaneous craziness that I had.

So,

Speaker: right. And, and we're hoping that people have support if that comes, but I love that, that you said, don't just dance, like listen to your body and just let it move the way like, It just wants to, I feel like a lot of people have like, want to have that control over stuff, but that letting go. Yeah. There's magic in [00:22:00] that.

So I love that you said that.

Speaker 2: Yeah. It's amazing. You know, our bodies are wisdom. They know how to move and how to like work it all through. That's another thing. Just if you're having a tough day or you're working through some emotions, the feminine is movement. So just get up and like move again, breathe and move.

And your body will just be like, Oh, do this and breathe here and do that. And you're like, Oh, I just shifted the energy. Testing.

Speaker: Yeah. It's almost like you changed the channel on that station. You were stuck on, right? So, okay. Now there's the sexual energy that you mentioned life force energy. I think as parents.

Especially with, and I could be wrong, but I feel like that sexual energy gets a little diminished with all that's put upon us. How do we kind of like reignite that?

Speaker 2: Yeah, so important. I mean, first and foremost, it's always about communication with your partner, right? And spending that time. And what I like to guide my [00:23:00] clients to do is just really spending time together, you know, and just caressing each other without any, you Like no expectation because if you're too tired and all you want is caress, caress, right?

If you start caressing and you're like, Oh, I was really tired, but hey, now I'm getting lit. Right? Then you can go further. But like talking about that, like, Hey, how about tonight we just caress each other and like let's keep all expectations and pressure off because I think for women when we're specifically around young children, right?

It does change. My boys are nine and 11. And it's It's totally a different space when you're on those little children, you're just giving so much. And sometimes at night I just remembered like wanting to just like coil up into a ball, you know, and not touch anybody. But I also at the time felt pressure from my husband.

So if we have these conversations of like, let's just touch each other, let's just lay there holding each other's hands and just be really present with each other. Take all the pressure off. It's amazing. You know, just, it's there. [00:24:00] We want it. It's just, we get, you know, this feeling of overwhelm. So just having those little moments to yourself. It's also about permission. Because pleasure is not in just the natural way things work. Pleasure is not at the top of the list. And yet, pleasure is so important. And so, it's one of those things that, you know, as, that's why I say just come together and just caress. Give yourself permission and make those spaces where.

Even if it's just the slightest bit of pleasure of just having your husband caress you or your partner, whoever it is, you caressing them. Something very simple, but you're like, no, I'm going to give myself permission to just be here and enjoy it because we tend to put it way the bottom of the list.

Right. And it really nurtures us. Not even just sexual pleasure. All pleasure is deeply nurturing to our being.

Speaker: Yeah, it's [00:25:00] so true. And when you say that it's like Right, just like taking time and prioritizing herself and self care, like, that gets pushed down to the bottom of the list, but like the pleasure piece also just gets pushed down, whether sexual or not, right, like, just pleasure.

So I think, yeah, moms need to bring back pleasure in any form, sexual or just life. Yeah, so important. So what would you like? Mom's listening. What is that thing that they can like walk away with and start doing today

Speaker 2: podcast? Yeah. I mean, again, I want to really emphasize the breathing into the body.

And one thing I wanted to say was you can do this at any time. So the power of presence is so incredible and all of us parents want to be more present with our children. We just do. Right. So you can breathe into your body when you're making dinner. You can breathe into your body when you're breastfeeding, you can breathe into your [00:26:00] body when you're.

Yeah. You know, chasing after your toddlers, you can do it at any time of the day, anywhere. That's the great thing about it is it's free and it's always available. And there's really, I like to teach three points of presence. So one is the breath and feeling the breath. The second is really tuning into what you're hearing.

And, you know, sounds or silence and three, it is feeling a, a, a sense of touch. So whether that is like, if you're sitting, you can focus on your sit bones, touching the chair. If you're standing, it can be your feet on the ground. You can also just, you know, touch yourself, touch your, you know, hold your hands, give yourself a hug

you can also tap on your chest, right? Any of this form of touch. And then you just focus on all three of those at one time. Cause let's be real ladies. What do we always say about men? Like only give them three items on the shopping list, right? Because our brain does a really good job of focusing on Three things at a time and that's it.

So when all three of those things are [00:27:00] here in the present moment, you drop yourself into presence. And then if you find yourself like, Oh, wait, now I'm in thought you've let go of one of those. And so you just recalculate and bring it back in. And again, that can be two seconds. Two breaths, let it go, carry on.

But if you do that regularly throughout the day, it changes you so much. You start to really notice when you're present, when you're not, you start to yearn for that presence and you start to take it even deeper.

Speaker: It's almost like these little reminders throughout the day to kind of almost be in, in the moment.

Really? Yes. Yes. Yes. Exactly. Easy. Free. Accessible. Awesome.

So where can the listeners find you and what do you offer?

Speaker 2: Yeah. So they can find me at AlaraSage. com and Alara Sage across the social medias as well. And I work with women, like I said, who are struggling to conceive or they conceive, but they can't retain the [00:28:00] pregnancy. I work with women with sexual trauma.

I work with men and women, actually I work with both men and women to learn how to use their sexual magic, their sexual energy magically. And it's very practical magic. I'm a, I'm a very practical magic person and I teach people how to really create exactly what they want, no matter the obstacles using that creative life force energy and really being centered in our heart space.

I'll have all that in the show notes. And what is something that you really wished you knew as a mom, that you know now, but you wish you knew then that you want to just share with the audience?

Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, it's really that you're re raising yourself through your children. So I learned this fairly early on, but I didn't know it when my boys were really young. And so every time, you know, your children hit new. Age, new age, new, kind of a new cycle. [00:29:00] You're facing that version of yourself at that age.

So it's really powerful to have that awareness because you can really see your stuff come up of your, your little child moving through that era. And it gives you the opportunity to rewrite that story for yourself through that process. And then of course you do it differently for your own children.

Speaker: Wow, that is something that is so powerful.

It's so true seeing that, you know, as your child is going through maybe a stage and almost sometimes you're projecting something that happened to you that has actually nothing to do with them. So that is such a great takeaway, I think for any, any parent out there.

Speaker 2: Yeah. It's definitely transformed my, myself and of course my boys too.

Speaker: Yes. Well, thank you so much for sharing all this wisdom and all the insights that you offered us today. It is really made me think [00:30:00] of things just kind of differently. And I almost want to go back to certain phases of my life and just rewrite them honestly, and just reconnect with those different things.

Well,

Speaker 2: thank you so much, Lisa, and I'm truly celebrating you in your menopausal phase and your wise woman crone.

Speaker: Yes, all those women out there that are about to hit menopause. It's a amazing, magical place.

Well, this was such an eye opening episode I absolutely loved talking to Alara. Make sure you check out the show notes for all her resources that she offers. And let's start that simple practice of just taking a few breaths and really feeling into our body and embracing that life force energy that's in all of us. And until next week, make sure you keep taking time for yourself because you matter.
