As we dive into the new year, many of us are seeking ways to stay motivated and committed to our wellness goals. The great news is that you don’t need to spend a fortune on resources to kickstart your resolutions. There are countless free tools available at your fingertips! This year, I’m excited to incorporate yoga, pilates, and weight lifting into my weekly wellness routine. I want to share some of my go-to resources that help keep me on track and are completely free.
Daily Meditation with Insight Timer
One of my favorite daily habits is meditation, and I love using the Insight Timer app. This free app provides a daily quote and offers a selection of 10-minute meditations that are easy to follow. What I find particularly motivating is its consistency tracker; if I miss a day, it sends me a gentle reminder. There’s something powerful about having that accountability! I’ve become so hooked that I now meditate 2-3 times a day.
Weight Lifting with MadFit
Let’s be honest—lifting weights has never been my favorite activity. However, I understand how crucial it is to maintain muscle strength and bone density as we age. That’s why I turned to MadFit on YouTube. She offers a variety of workouts, and I particularly enjoy doing arm weights while walking on the treadmill. It makes the time fly by, and her exercises are simple yet effective.
Yoga with Adriene
When it comes to yoga, I am completely in love with Yoga by Adriene. Whether you’re a beginner or more advanced, her channel has something for everyone, with a wide range of workout lengths. For me, starting with just 10-20 minutes is manageable, and Adriene provides plenty of variety to keep things fresh. Yoga is not only great for your body but also your mind.
Pilates with Trifecta Pilates
Lastly, I’ve been following one of my Real Life Momz guests, Beth Sandlin, on her YouTube channel, Trifecta Pilates. She offers a plethora of beginner-friendly videos, making it easy to ease into Pilates. Plus, she also provides different workout lengths, which is fantastic for busy schedules. If you want to learn more about her approach, check out our interview, "Pilates & Self-Care Tips for Busy Moms."
If you’re like me and need a little motivation to get started, I encourage you to explore these amazing free resources that are just waiting for you! Remember, staying active and focused on your wellness doesn’t have to come with a hefty price tag. Let’s make this year our best one yet!
